Position Overview:
The Behavioral Health Activities Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison for patient engagement activities, ensuring a therapeutic and enjoyable experience for all patients. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage various tasks, build connections with patients and staff, and create a welcoming atmosphere. The coordinator will oversee the implementation and coordination of structured activities, ensuring that the facility is a fun and nurturing environment that supports patients? mental and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Activities Liaison: Serve as the central point of contact for all patient activities, floating throughout the building to engage with patients and staff.
- Activity Calendar Management: Develop and manage a weekly activity calendar, ensuring it is posted throughout the building and that patients are informed of upcoming events.
- Evening and Weekend Activities: Lead and facilitate all evening and weekend patient activities, ensuring a positive and therapeutic experience.
- Patient Incentive Program & Store: Manage the Butterfly Bucks incentive program and operate the Butterfly Store, ensuring it is well-stocked and organized. Champion the program to staff to promote patient engagement.
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory of the Butterfly Store, ensuring the availability of items to meet patient needs and reward participation.
- 12-Step Program Coordination: Ensure all 12-step meeting slots are filled by outside speakers, coordinating with external parties as needed to support patient recovery.
- Facility Decorations: Oversee and manage the decoration of the facility for major holidays, creating a festive and welcoming environment.
- Religious Services Coordination: Plan and coordinate religious services on Sundays, ensuring patients have access to spiritual support.
- Patient Well-Being: Foster a sense of home and community within the facility by ensuring patients are having fun, feeling comfortable, and actively engaging in activities.
