Responsibilities
The Transport Patient Engagement Specialist transports incoming patients to the treatment facility. This individual is the first staff point of contact for all patients who require transportation to a facility. The individual ensures safe, secure, and comfortable travel for all new admits.
- Maintain demonstration of values and mission statement.
- Establishes communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and patient satisfaction.
- Transports patients to the facility to designated areas in an efficient and timely manner.
- Follows routing and scheduling instructions given by the Dispatch Manager.
- Accompanies patients inside the facility upon arrival and delivers communication to the Receptionist and Dispatch Manager regarding the drop off.
- Offers comfort and support to patients and their families.
- Respects and protects patient confidence and hospital confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private.
- Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and their possessions.
- Possesses excellent driving capabilities.
- Possesses the ability to de-escalate situations.
- Maintains a secure, clean, and healthy work environment.
- Routinely complies with the standards set forth by HIPAA.
- Works as a highly dependable, independent member of the treatment team.
- Ability to maintain flexibility in work schedule.
- Must be a committed team player willing to learn new skill sets.
