Summary 

Our successful Housekeeper candidates will be organized, efficient, proactive and responsive self-starters. They’ll be authentic and passionate, pay attention to details, and demonstrate strong nursing skills while meeting patients where they are, conveying that “we care about YOU.” They’ll have a high EQ, be people savvy and be carefully attuned to nuance and behavioral subtleties. They’ll enjoy working independently and also collaboratively, as part of a care team.

The most successful candidates will have some capacity with being entrepreneurial and nimble, as we are always developing new approaches throughout the business. They’ll flow well with what others call stress and be comfortable with addressing differences and conflict while simultaneously also humble and eager to receive and integrate feedback. They’ll demonstrate healthy and motivating ways of giving feedback as well. They’ll bring great care, integrity, and customer service to all they do.

Responsibilities

The Housekeeper works with the Facilities Manager toward the goal set for the highest quality service to the residents, families and guests of the facility. The Housekeeper is responsible for documentation of cleaning and service. He/she performs other duties as assigned.

• Interacts with residents daily in a respectful and cooperative manner.
• Performs cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Cleans kitchen and dining area.
• Observes waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Is able to follow directions.
• Assists in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
• Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction.
• Reports any observed area in poor repair.
• Dispenses soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies.
• Is able to assist with laundry duties.
• Attends in-service training programs.
• Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action.
• Observes infection control procedures related to the Housekeeping Department.
• Follows Patient's Rights policies at all times.
• Follows facility safety program.
• Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
• Accepts assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
• Assumes accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.
• Performs other related duties as directed by the Executive Director.
• Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing situations
• Demonstrated crisis skills as shown in problem solving, or crisis intervention and emergency situations;
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit self-control and frustration tolerance as shown by patience, proper language use, voice tone, use of rational and overall professional orientation;
• Demonstrated ability to routinely receive feedback
• Willingness to accept assignments.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years prior experience in Housekeeping
• Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly preferred
• Must be committed to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
• The Employee must maintain confidentiality
