POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Title Examiner EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FT Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Set Out REPORTS TO: VP of Operations
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Examines public records and documents to determine legal condition of property title by performing the following duties:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
**Examines copies of records such as mortgage, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal descriptions of property.
**Copies and summarizes (abstract) recorded documents such as mortgages, trust deeds, and contracts affecting condition of title to property.
**Prepares and issues abstracted report reflecting open items on title.
**Prepares tax reports for various clients.
*Report obtained information back to client via requested formats.
*Reports status of files to client in a professional manner.
*Performs other duties as requested.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties and responsibilities noted with asterisks (*) are considered to be the essential functions of the job description.
QUALIFICATIONS: Typing skills required. May be asked to take a typing test prior to interview.
Ability to analyze legal documents. Industry experience recommended, but not required. Able to deal with high volume, high accuracy products in a time sensitive environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
