Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Landscape Technician to join our Landscape Construction team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and will assist in the install of various landscaping projects.. The Landscape Technician will work side by side with the Landscape Construction Crew Lead and other team members to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Execute the installation of landscape construction projects ensuring completion within project deadlines and in accordance with project blueprints/structural drawings/specifications
- Coordinate with the Landscape Construction Crew Lead for the organization of project labor requirements, equipment requirements, and all necessary materials, including material deliveries
- Assist in the day-to-day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 2 to 4 employees
- Operate various tools and equipment, including, but not limited to: truck & trailer, heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
- Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites
- Remain continuously on-call for snow/ice removal beginning each November and continuing through the month of March, including nights, weekends & holidays, and shall report for duty within one hour of a qualifying snow or ice event. Snow removal work includes a pay premium of an additional $7.50/hr.
Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Speak, read, and write English
- Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred) & insurance in good standing
- No experience necessary, preferred 1 year experience in the landscape maintenance or landscape construction industry
- Ability to perform frequent bending, twisting, kneeling & squatting and able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs; Excellent stamina is required
- Basic measurement and calculation skills
- Ability to read, interpret & execute blueprints and specifications
- Effective communication (both verbal and written) & time management skills
- Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction projects
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, including but not limited to the consistent use of personal protective equipment, and company procedures
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
