About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Learning Specialist to join our Bay Area teaching team for the 2024/2025 school year, with an immediate start date. This role is perfect for someone passionate about working with children and eager to teach engaging classes in engineering, clay, and coding.
No prior knowledge in each subject is required. We will provide comprehensive training and curriculum to ensure you feel confident in leading classrooms across various exciting topics. After working at Lando, you’ll be an expert across our subject areas!
This role needs someone who is comfortable with and excited about technology, has a great sense of responsibility for students in the class, and able to work well with groups of children in grades 1 to 5.
Classes for the 2024/2025 school year are currently in both the Peninsula region (Campbell, Cupertino, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Foster City) and East Bay region (Fremont, Pleasanton, Castro Valley, Dublin, Milpitas)
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly pay: Competitive rates of $40-$70 per hour, translating to $100-$175 per day for 2.5 hours of work. Potential to work between 3 to 5 days per week, with classes mostly scheduled to start around 2pm and go for less than 2 hours.

Responsibilities
- Class Preparation: Pack and manage your own class supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are ready and organized for each session (all materials supplied by Lando)
- Effective Communication: Build and maintain warm, positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff through clear and effective communication.
- Class Delivery: Deliver engaging and high-quality classes, both digital and analog, across various subjects including engineering, clay, and coding.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time for every class, demonstrating reliability and commitment to the students' learning experience.
- Consistency: Commit to teaching the same days each week for the entire semester (~10 weeks; based off school calendar) to ensure a stable learning environment.
Qualifications
- A demonstrated interest or experience managing groups of children grade 1 to 5 (e.g., volunteer teacher, camp counselor)
- A passion to engage with and delight families, ideally with experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., retail, hospitality, sales, customer service)
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a love for organization
- Ability to work at Lando from October to December 2024 (ability to work through June 2025 is preferred)
- Reliable transportation and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

This role will require teaching on-campus in schools in the Bay Area.
