The Human Resources Manager is responsible for carrying out the HR operational functions of the departments they serve and support, including recruitment and hiring, employee relations, performance management, talent development, employee engagement and communication, onboarding, and offboarding.
This is an onsite position located near Spring Branch, Texas
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Full cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles within the organization partnering with hiring managers to identify hiring criteria and job candidate profiles. Reviews resumes and applications and screens candidates for qualifications and job fit via phone interviews.
Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and management, engaging with appropriate staff members as needed regarding complex and / or sensitive matters.
Responds to and investigates employee relation issues and needs, including but not limited to, employee complaints and conflicts, harassment, and / or discrimination.
Partners with the CHRO to make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous performance improvement.
Drafts new HR policies as needed and helps update / maintain the employee handbook, accordingly.
Reviews and responds to unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
Co-chairs the Events Committee and collaborates with members in planning and hosting employee events and engagement activities.
Onboarding / Offboarding responsibilities including new employee orientation, new employee survey feedback, conducts exit interviews.
Assist with employee communication efforts
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Extensive knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Highly proficient with HR Information Systems, including Applicant Tracking modules.
Highly proficient in Windows applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); able to learn new software.
A minimum of three (3) years of human resource experience is required, including strong recruitment experience and experience in handling sensitive employment matters, including those related to employment law considerations.
Experience in working in highly productive and transaction-oriented environments.
Experience in sourcing and hiring hourly positions.
Experience working at small to mid-sized companies with lean HR teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
A valid certification in Human Resources from an accredited institution is preferred.
