A well-established company in Amarillo, TX is looking for a full-time Equipment Operator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to be a part of a dynamic supportive working environment.

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery to support sustainable power assembly operations. This role ensures the efficient movement, loading, unloading, and positioning of large turbine components and materials within the plant. The operator will work closely with production, logistics, and safety teams to maintain smooth workflow and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

Operate heavy equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, and hoists to transport turbine components and materials.
Ensure proper loading, unloading, and positioning of large and heavy materials according to production and assembly requirements.
Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Follow all safety protocols, including lockout / tagout procedures, to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
Assist with staging and storage of turbine components, ensuring efficient material flow in the plant.
Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and assembly teams to meet production schedules and operational goals.
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Support inventory management by assisting with material movement and tracking.

Qualifications & Skills :

High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification in heavy equipment operation preferred).

2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.

Valid heavy equipment operator certification and / or forklift certification (as required by local regulations).

Experience working with overhead cranes and rigging techniques is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of safety procedures and OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation.

Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and load charts.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for handling large turbine components.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Physical ability to operate equipment for extended periods and lift / move heavy materials as required.

Work Environment :

Industrial turbine assembly plant setting.

Exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures both indoors and outdoors.

Requires standing, walking, manually lifting (max of 33lbs.), and maneuvering equipment for extended periods.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
