Warehouse Material Handler / Home Furnishings Specialist
A local company in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida is looking for a Warehouse Material Handler / Home Furnishings Specialist to join their team. The Home Furnishings Specialist will maintain expert knowledge of new furniture products in order to provide excellent customer service and close sales.
Job Responsibilities :
- Demonstrates the Mission and Core Values of the Waterfront Rescue Mission (WRM) in all job functions and day to day activities
- Maintains an in depth and ongoing knowledge of home furnishing product lines (e.g. Furnish 123 and Dreamline).
- Collaborates with Store Manager and Marketing Specialist to build and promote sales campaigns through social media and direct advertising.
- Works in partnership with Store Manager to ensure the timing and placement of promotion signage is accurate and effective.
- Takes down and changes signs after completion of each promotion.
- Conceptualizes, merchandises, and photographs visually appealing displays to showcase items, create a positive store image, and increase revenue.
- Ensures delivery of excellent customer service.
- Educates customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
- Closes sales using a consultative approach which advises customers on the range of products available and sells in the best fit for them.
- Maintains sales floor inventory and creates orders for approval.
- Understands and promotes various financing agreements offered through the Mission.
- Some travel may be necessary for training & temporary duty.
Qualifications :
Must respect and uphold the mission and values of the ministry and possess high level of ethics, honesty and character.High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience .Must have a valid state driver’s license and be insurable by the WRM insurance carrier.Demonstrates the Mission Statement and Core Values of the Mission in all job functions and day to day activities.Supports the organizational goals of the Mission.Always maintains a professional and positive attitude during day-to-day Mission activities.Strives to provide a positive cultural environment for co-workers, clients and customers.Practices stewardship by taking ownership of one’s duties and responsibilities and does not waste or destroy Mission assets and / or properties.Exemplifies teamwork and the ability to always work well with others.
