Description
The individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities that support field operations with direct reporting to the Director of Field Operations and Project Superintendent. The individual will assist in completing on-site work as necessary. A can-do attitude, professional appearance, and the ability to multi-task are necessary skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to including:
- Operate hand and power tools associated with the carpentry trade and perform interior, exterior, carpentry work involved in the commercial construction, renovation, repair and general maintenance of buildings and facilities.
- Rough framing, blocking, trim and siding.
- Interior trim, casework and countertop installation.
- Drywall, taping and painting and miscellaneous flooring and ceiling work.
- Plan reading and the ability to follow plans and specifications.
- Take-off and order materials for work to be completed.
- Door frame installation, hang doors and set hardware.
- Installation of building accessories.
- Maintain and service tools and equipment.
- Assist project Superintendents and/or project as needed and monitor projects and work by subcontractors for adherence to Landry/French safety policy, plans and specifications, and state and federal requirements and report back to supervisor.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
- Other work as may be assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENT AND SKILLS:
- Must have at least 1 years’ experience in commercial carpentry.
- Transportation to and from job locations required.
- Layout/line/grade a plus.
- Proficient in reading blueprints a plus.
- Must have good interpersonal skills, desire to learn, ability to communicate well.
- Work effectively as an individual and as an integral part of a team and the ability to multi-task.
