Overview
A Host is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for presenting exceptional customer service to ensure the guests' first impression of the restaurant is a positive one.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a genuine smile and positive attitude
- Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to any inquiries or concerns
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions to provide accurate information to guests
- Handle guest complaints or issues professionally or bring them to the manager when necessary
- Assist with running food, delivering and / or refilling guests' drinks
- Guide guests to their tables and present them with menus
- Take to-go orders over the phone and in person
- Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service
- Refill drinks and clear plates as needed during guest's dining experience
- Provide great customer service
- Provide highchairs and other requested items to the guest
- Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements
