Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Safety & Risk Management Specialist to join our team and help build a zero-accident culture. This role supports the Safety & Compliance Director by conducting training, analyzing data, maintaining records, and assisting in injury prevention programs. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong relationships across the organization to promote health and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Safety Culture
- Promote a zero-accident culture and lead efforts to maintain safety certifications and ISO programs.
- Develop relationships with employees to encourage open communication about safety.
- Facilitate safety training sessions, including new hire orientations and ongoing education programs.
- Support behavioral safety changes through coaching and accountability.
- Provide field safety support, including short-term travel assignments.
Administration and Reporting
- Track training records, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Prepare reports and presentations to identify risks and recommend solutions.
- Gather employee feedback and update safety procedures and policies.
- Order and maintain PPE and first aid supplies.
Injury and Crisis Management
- Assist with return-to-work programs and light-duty task identification.
- Support incident investigations, identify root causes, and develop preventative measures.
- Work with supervisors to create buy-in for safe practices and disaster preparedness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of related experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred; additional safety certifications a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and workplace safety policies.
