Summary: The Director of Communication at Lane College is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the college's visibility and reputation. This role involves managing media relations, overseeing internal and external communications, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans to support the college's goals and objectives.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the college, managing media inquiries and public relations efforts.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials.
- Manage the college's social media presence and website content to ensure timely and accurate information.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Plan and execute events, including press conferences, community outreach programs, and special events.
- Provide communication support during crises, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven improvements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a communication or public relations role, preferably in higher education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
