Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship Program Information The Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JDEI) Faculty Fellowship Program affirms the institutional goals of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The fellowship program seeks to promote the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty at Lane Community College. The program does this by advancing the careers of individuals from groups in U.S. society that have been historically underrepresented in the academic profession. Among the College's goals are increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of its faculty and broadening access to the college-teaching profession to qualified minority scholars. Candidates may also meet the goals of the JDEI program by demonstrating a strong commitment to working with diverse student populations or advancing equity and inclusion through their teaching, research, or service. To help achieve these goals, Lane Community College sponsors an annual Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship program designed to bring two faculty members to the College each year. The program specifically aims to promote and support the careers of under-represented faculty. The one-year program provides reassignment of one course for one term to ensure fellowship participants have the opportunity to fully engage in their professional development as teachers and scholars and to collaborate with colleagues. Faculty fellows will teach classes in their fields of expertise and engage fully in the life of the College. They will receive both mentorship and opportunities to connect and collaborate with colleagues not only in their own discipline, but also with faculty and administrators across the College. Division Information The Mental Health and Wellness Center is seeking to hire a licensed mental health counselor. The Center is committed to increasing the diversity and equity of the college community in multiple forms.

Salary/Wage Range:	$61,946 - $86,542 per academic year (starting salary range)
Salary/Compensation Statement:	Application is used to determine initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered. Faculty positions are paid based on relevant experience and education in concurrence with Lane's Contracted, Full-time Faculty Salary Schedule. Bilingual-required positions are placed one salary step higher. The Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, long term disability and paid sick leave. Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Working Schedule:	This position will work 174.5 days out of a full academic year (4 terms, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring) with a schedule of work determined by the division and college. Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship Reassignment time (i.e., reduced teaching load) of one course for one term during the first year for mentorship and collaboration with faculty colleagues through the Faculty Professional Development Faculty Connections for faculty eligible for the JDEI fellowship program.

Required Education:	Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship Eligibility Requirements In making awards under this program, Lane Community College gives consideration especially to individuals who are either members of historically marginalized populations or who identify with groups that are historically underrepresented in higher education. A range of other factors related to increasing diversity at the College are also taken into account, such as socioeconomic background, research and teaching goals that emphasize social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and first-generation college graduates in evaluating candidates who otherwise meet the job requirements. Faculty Position Requirements Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. LCC follows state guidelines to provide an alternative qualification process. Applicants who believe they are alternatively qualified are encouraged to describe their qualifications in the optional Supplemental Question.

Position Purpose:	The Mental Health Counselor facilitates the coordination of care and individual support for students experiencing significant mental health challenges. The purpose of this role is to enhance the conditions and likelihood of students' personal and academic success and to contribute to a campus community that strives to be supportive and conducive to positive student mental health and overall wellbeing.
Essential Functions:	Case Management Consults with students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding mental health issues and the well-being of students. Helps manage any crisis situations. Responds to consultation requests from faculty and staff. Maintains a database of local referral resources and serves as a liaison to community mental health providers. Maintains a database of student records and progress notes. Facilitates off-campus referrals for students that need long term or specialized care. Serves on other campus committees as requested. Counseling and Crisis Intervention Responsible for providing individual crisis intervention counseling services to students. Provides consultation services to faculty and staff as well as outreach activities to enhance knowledge of mental health issues in the campus community. Provides case management and clinical services to students with diverse mental health concerns that include referring and bridging students to mental health services in the community. Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and referral for students on a scheduled or walk-in basis. Conduct evaluations of students' current mental health state, and make a determination of immediate next steps. Assists students in developing a care plan, goals, and assessing progress regularly. Makes contact with, follows-up with, and/or refers students who express thoughts of suicidal ideation or make threats of suicide to the appropriate resources. Provides training and educational programming to faculty and staff regarding student mental health concerns and referrals. Provides outreach to students regarding mental health concerns. Documents, organizes, and manages client records in accordance with professional standards and state and federal laws. Abides by applicable State and Federal laws, licensure requirements and professional codes of ethics Intern Coordination Coordinates and leads day-to-day work of counseling interns. Provides feedback regarding counseling sessions, case notes, and student follow-up. Reviews case notes before they get entered into a student file. Assists in providing feedback for work evaluations. Recommends changes in workflow and assignment of student cases. Shadows appointments with students and necessary follow-up. Develop and/or coordinate and offer training opportunities. Professional Responsibilities Comply with College policies and procedures, including accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering, and related functions Participate in faculty performance evaluation processes Active participation in division and college business and committees Timely response to all college-related written and electronic communications Manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students. Physical Demands/Working Environment:	This position works in varied environments. May be exposed to usual office, industry, education, and commercial working conditions that include noises, interruptions, equipment, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. This position may work with individuals who may be in crisis, have difficulty tracking, or in need of mental health support. May perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work Safely.
