Applicant Notification:	Position Information The Lane Dental Clinic and Lane Community College are seeking Part-time Dental Assistant. This is a non-faculty assignment. What does the clinic do differently? The goal of the Lane Dental Clinic is to provide the public with patient-centered, comprehensive, preventive, and therapeutic dental care, while at the same time providing effective, practical, educational experiences for dental assisting students. Encourage the love of learning and service. Lane's Clinic specializes in treating patients without recent access to dental care. Clinic staff provide teeth cleaning and restorative services with affordable prices to community members, students and those in need with dental expertise, compassion and kindness. The selected candidate will: Have a passion for serving others in their work and willingly mentor and develop Lane students to gain employment. Contribute to a positive atmosphere of individual caring, dedication and service in a fast-paced clinic. Work with experienced Dentists who have committed to serving the community and training Lane students. Working Schedule:	Up to 40 hour shift available: Perform opening and closing daily clinic procedures. The clinic coordinator will work with you on hours and months scheduled based on your agreed upon commitment. Monday-Friday clinic 7:30-5:30 Possible evening clinics and Saturday clinics

Position Purpose:	To provide dental services and training to students and community members in a training clinic.
Essential Functions:	Support student learning through activities that include: Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering and related functions Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching Collegial participation in performance evaluation process Maintain and post office hours in alignment with College expectations. Supervision Statement:	This position is supervised by The Dean of Health Professions. Clinic work will be led by Primary Dental Assistants and Certified Clinic Dentists. The Clinic Coordinator leads the work of the clinic, sets schedules, oversees daily operations, workflow, establishes procedures, gives input for clinic functions and develops organizational procedures.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:	This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. This position may work with individuals who may be hostile or abusive. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work safely.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:	Ability to: Advise, motivate, encourage, explain options, and guide students in the learning process. Plan, implement, and evaluate professional-technical courses. Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to student learning. Establish and maintain effective working relations with faculty, students, and staff. Communicate effectively. Demonstrate organizational abilities. Understanding of time management. Well rounded leadership skills. Strong communication abilities and, computer skills, including word processing. Analyze and problems solve. Write clearly and present information in concise summary reports. Prioritize and set long and short-term goals. Understand the role of the community college and the diversity of the community college student body.
