Marine Technician
Duties:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on marine vessels, including boats, yachts, and other watercraft
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Install, repair, and replace boat components such as engines, propellers, steering systems, and electrical systems
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and specifications for repairs and installations
- Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions
Skills:
- Mechanical knowledge: Proficient understanding of boat engines, systems, and components
- Power tools: Competent in using a variety of power tools for repairs and installations
- Solder: Skill in soldering electrical connections for repairs or installations
- Schematics: Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes
- Weld: Proficient in welding for repairs or modifications
- Electrical: Knowledge of marine electrical systems and ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues
- Assemble: Capable of assembling components according to manufacturer instructions
- Caliper: Ability to use calipers for precise measurements
