HEAVY EQUIPMENT LUBE MECHANIC
M.T. Laney Co., Inc. is an established and successful construction firm in Eldersburg, MD. We seek an experienced, committed, career-minded Heavy Equipment Lube Mechanic to join our growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Effectively fuel, lubricate, and service all levels of mobile light and heavy equipment
- Ability to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, diagnostics/defects/malfunctions, and determine required repairs on heavy equipment
- Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime on all types of equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all safety policies and use proper PPE
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Heavy equipment and/or on-highway truck maintenance\PM experience or related field preferred
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- Must have a CDL Class A/B Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- An emphasis on safety on and off the road
- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather
- Must own a good working set of mechanics tools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions or shop
- Lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Stand for prolonged amounts of time
- Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Able to work from elevated platforms
SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:
- Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
- Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education
EDUCATION:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic preferred
