LOWBOY DRIVER
M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction company located in Eldersburg, MD looking to hire a professional Lowboy Driver to join their team.
The Driver’s primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of a lowboy truck to load/unload, secure equipment to trailer, and transport equipment to and from various jobsites throughout the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- Valid CDL – Class A Driver’s license with a good driving record (License must be the State of residence)
- Clean Driving Record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip making sure truck is in safe conditions
- Maintains telephone contact with dispatch for instructions
- Maintains truck logs as required by the State, Federal, and Company policies and regulations
- Ability to load heavy pieces of machinery into the trailer, crawl under the machines to secure binder chains between machine & trailer. Make sure chains are tight & secure.
- Maintains the cleanliness and service ability of assigned truck
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to drive up to 11 hours a day
- Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
- Talk and hear
- Lift and move up to 75 pounds
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Health Card)
EXPERIENCE:
- 1 years of Lowboy experience hauling equipment
