We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Floor Manager to help oversee and manage our day-to-day operations.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Floor Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production floor. This individual will be responsible for managing production schedules, optimizing labor resources, maintaining quality control, and fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lean (TPS) manufacturing principles, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize lean (TPS) manufacturing principles to meet production goals efficiently.
- Ensure production lines shift at scheduled times and make necessary adjustments to keep operations on track.
- Allocate available labor across departments as needed to maintain production flow.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve production systems and employee performance.
- Conduct regular quality audits across all departments to ensure high-quality standards.
- Ensure all work areas are well-organized and conducive to productivity.
- Promote a culture that fosters employee satisfaction and long-term retention.
- Help team members gain the necessary knowledge and skills to grow within the company.
- Encourage a culture of problem-solving through scientific thinking and data-driven decisions.
- Promote adherence to company policies and expectations at all times.
- Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and responsiveness to employee issues.
- Lead daily meetings with group and team leaders to align on production goals for the day.
- Conduct end of day production meetings with billing and management teams.
- Audit Bills of Materials (BOM) for each trailer to ensure accuracy and proper materials management.
- Lead and promote a culture of safety on the production floor, ensuring that safety protocols are followed at all times. Proactively identify safety risks and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in production management, overseeing a team of at least 10 people.
- Proven experience with lean (TPS) manufacturing principles.
- Requires strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and production management skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a diverse team to achieve objectives.
- Minimum of 1 year HR experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) for reporting and communication.
