Job Summary:
The Resident Assistant provides daily care and support to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. This role reports to the nursing supervisor and works closely with healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Serve meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Help residents with toileting and incontinence care.
- Monitor and report changes in resident conditions to nursing staff.
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean living environment.
- Support residents in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' rights.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CNA or PCA certification (preferred or as required by state regulations).
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
