The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor oversees workplace safety and environmental compliance. The EHS Supervisor will develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure and regulatory-compliant work environment. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and experience in risk management.
Key Outcomes
- Develop, implement, and enforce environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Monitor workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance reports.
- Lead emergency response planning, including fire drills and hazardous material handling.
- Collaborate with department managers to promote a strong safety culture.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and recommend necessary policy updates.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong computer skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other safety regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-Hour, or similar certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct training and engage employees in safety programs.
- Proficiency in incident reporting, risk assessment, and safety audits.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial settings.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment. Will spend time in an office and warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Must be physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Work is primarily performed in a warehouse environment
