Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities
- Business Development:
- Works independently to identify and develop new client relationships by leveraging centers of influence, existing clients, & referral sources.
- Originates new loans over $500,000 with total relationships up to $20,000,000 .
- Collaborates closely with Langley internal partners to deepen existing relationships and acquire new high-value prospective relationships.
- Attends community and/or specific industry forums, conferences, and/or meetings to broaden relationship networks and referral sources and continually deepen knowledge of trends, practices, services, and the competitive landscape.
- Assists in the training of less experienced Commercial Loan Officers.
- Portfolio Management:
- Develops individualized strategies and contact plans for each business member in the targeted segmentation and branch footprint to deepen and enhance current loan relationships and generate new loans.
- Ensures that customer relationships are managed to maximize the opportunity for the Member and Credit Union while considering overall risk.
- Collaborates with Commercial Loan Administrators and Portfolio Managers in the overall maintenance, review, and quality control of existing loan portfolios.
- Member Experience:
- Meets with members regularly to enhance the trusted advisor relationship and ensure business needs are being met.
- Leads and coordinates with Langley partners to create and implement a relationship strategy for large, complex assigned clients and prospects.
- Utilizes Langley’s existing origination and contact management systems for client activity tracking, call reports, and pipeline management.
- Credit Excellence:
- Collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine general creditworthiness
- Spearheads the structuring, underwriting, and approval processes of conventional and SBA loans via Langley’s established guidelines
- Works closely with Credit Analysts to ensure underwriting, credit memo preparation, and credit committee presentations are consistent and accurate
- Partners with Portfolio Managers to adhere to established Portfolio Management guidelines (i.e., delinquencies, document preparation, financial statement tracking exceptions, matured loans, reporting, etc.).
- Delivers credit committee presentations on each new request.
- Monitors ongoing information concerning customer financial performance, condition, and industry trends to determine that any credit exposure is at an acceptable risk and priced accordingly.
- Ensures loans booked are in compliance with regulatory and underwriting guidelines.
- Maintains acceptable delinquency and charge-off ratios.
- A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of work experience and training is
- Previous experience in cross-selling financial products is required.
- Previous experience in underwriting commercial loans
- Minimum of five years of experience originating commercial loans is required
