Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Phone Triage Medical Assistant understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.
- Answers and routes incoming calls for assigned location on a complex telephone system
- Collaborates and communicates efficiently with the Solution Center Specialists and Lead Solution Center Specialist.
- Evaluates, assesses, and documents patient's questions or concerns by utilizing clinical skills and established medical protocols.
- Responsible for scheduling appointments, follow up appointments, annual exams, etc.
- Calls patients that are discharged from the ED and/or hospital and schedules the required appointments.
- Processes refill requests received from patients or pharmacies via phone or electronic format.
- Effectively uses EMR system to document patient records using proper English grammar, spelling, and syntax.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current certification or registration as Medical Assistant
- Preferably 3 or more years clinical experience working in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in the operation of a computer keyboard and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Products and electronic health record.
