Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organize and keep on file providers of different disciplines and groups of referral sources and library of insurance/medical plan PPO providers, etc. in electronic format.
- Schedule requested referrals per specialty and insurance plan, logging information in computer. Original to referral provider via patient, mail or fax. (Include additional medical records as requested by referral/referring provider).
- Document referral completely to include authorization numbers and patient notification details.
- Communicate with other departments/patients/providers and agencies to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Assist in compiling data for QA, audits and inspections.
- Attend special education classes or become trained as indicated for enhancement to duties within limits of legal guidelines.
- Maintain confidential approach at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal clients and external customers.
- Maintain work area in a clean, neat and organized manner.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Bilingual highly Preferred
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and adhere to deadlines
- Office and computer skills preferred
