POSITION SUMMARY:

The school improvement specialist assists, supports, and coaches staff members in implementing effective school improvement strategies. The specialist will promote school improvement by facilitating training, providing professional development and ensuring implementation of the school improvement plan. This individual will also be responsible for providing onsite leadership and support to ensure effective implementation of best practices of the school improvement plan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience and valid teaching certificate.

• Evidence of school improvement leadership.

• Demonstrates strong organizational and data management skills.
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working with a diverse group of people.

• Embodies the core values of the district; relational, purposeful, reflective, resourceful, courageous, and accountable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands, monitors, and ensures implementation of the school improvement process.
• Ensures alignment of budgets and expenditures to the School Improvement Plan.
• Provides support, mentoring and coaching for grade level teachers.
• Facilitates training and coaching for grade level staff on various topics.
• Assists in the collection and analysis of data as it impacts student achievement.
• Performs other duties as requested.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent or designated supervisor in accordance with Policy GBI - Evaluation of Personnel.
