What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accent and Dialect Coach position at Language Academia?
Hey there,
We are an LA based Language School. As a general we focus on linguistics: tutoring languages, translations, history, etc.
One of our departments "Accents for Actors" is looking to welcome new members.
Requirements:
- A minimum of Associate Degree in one of the following: Linguistics, Specific Language/Culture, Archeology, Anthropology, Education, Speech-Pathology, Acting, Performing Arts, Singing, Voice Work, or any related subject.
- Good ear (being able to catch minor details in a person's speech)
- Love and Passion for film/filmmaking/acting/character development
- Willingness to work in a kind and stress free environment
- LA county residence
Responsibilities :
- One-on-one zoom coaching for students
- Group Zoom Workshops Leading
- Curriculum Development
- Occasional On-Set Coaching
Accents that we are looking for URGENTLY:
French, Hispanic General, Hispanic (Detailed, i.e. Mexican, Colombian, etc.), Russian, British RP, British Popular London, Japanese, West African, South African, AAVA, Scottish, Irish, Scandinavian, Jamaican, Hawaiian, American Standard, New York, Southern American. Other are welcome to apply too. Very rare and exotic accents and dialects are welcome as well.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
