Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Infant-Toddler Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to caregivers and early childhood educators, ensuring optimal developmental outcomes for infants and toddlers. This role involves collaboration with families, child care providers, and community organizations to promote best practices in early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site coaching and mentoring to childcare providers to improve the quality of care for infants and toddlers.
- CBRS services are delivered directly to the child and family in natural environments such as the home, child care settings, or other places where children typically spend their time.
- The approach is family-centered, emphasizing collaboration with caregivers to integrate strategies into daily routines.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on infant and toddler development, curriculum planning, and responsive caregiving practices.
- Collaborate with families to offer guidance and resources that support their childs developmental needs.
- Monitor and assess program quality using appropriate tools, such as the Infant/Toddler Environmental Rating Scale (ITERS).
- Develop individualized improvement plans for child care centers and family child care homes.
- Maintain detailed records of visits, assessments, and progress reports.
- Participate in community outreach and partnerships to advocate for high-quality early childhood education.
- Stay updated on best practices and research in early childhood development.
QualificationsEducation and Certification
- Bachelors degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field (required).
- Infant, Toddler, and Family Certificate (ITFC) or willingness to complete certification (required).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and families in a professional capacity.
- Knowledge of early childhood assessment tools and intervention strategies.
- Experience providing training and technical assistance to caregivers and educators (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
- Deep understanding of infant and toddler development and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse populations.
- Organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training platforms.
- Knowledge of state and federal child care licensing and early intervention services regulations.
