JOB DESCRIPTION
Lankford | Fendler is a midsize consulting engineering firm located in the Crossroads district of Kansas City, Missouri. We pride ourselves on a small business and office environment with flexibility and innovation. We are seeking full-time engineers in the plumbing field to work in-office.
The work consists of design of Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering services for various projects. The ideal candidate should be able to interact with internal / external personnel on matters of project design. We are seeking a team player who is self-motivated and possesses time management skills. The candidate will be responsible for gathering engineering data from a variety of sources, performing basic calculations, reviewing details and quantity calculations from others.
At least 10 years previous experience in MEP Engineering and experience in healthcare projects are required specifically medical gas systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform calculations and design of plumbing engineering systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and develop construction documents.
- Provide technical info, assistance, and make recommendations as to the feasibility of certain systems or equipment and evaluate products for application.
- Provide final plan checking and quality control on project deliverables.
- Assist in updating specifications
- Contact various public utility company personnel to coordinate utilities for a project.
- Check shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications. Respond to code comments and resolve permit issues with officials. Assist in answering questions from contractors and bidders.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of proven expertise as an engineer
- Previous experience in healthcare related and multi-family design projects
- Experience in drafting in Revit
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Knowledge of engineering processes with hands-on experience using design and calculation software
- Understanding of engineering codes and safety standards
- Problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
