**Position Overview:**
The Yard Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing, organizing, and tracking all equipment, parts, and materials in the yard. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety practices, and a proactive approach to inventory control. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that equipment and supplies are accurately tracked, stored, and ready for use, while maintaining a safe and organized yard environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Inventory Management
- Accurately track and record equipment, parts, and materials in the yard using inventory management systems.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and inspections to ensure stock accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
- Assist in the receiving, labeling, and proper storage of new inventory.
- Organize and maintain inventory in a manner that allows for easy access and efficient use.
Safety Compliance
- Follow all company safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Regularly inspect the yard for safety hazards and report any concerns immediately.
- Ensure that equipment is stored in a safe manner to prevent damage and accidents.
- Adhere to safety standards for equipment handling, loading/unloading, and forklift operation.
Equipment Maintenance & Preparation
- Assist in the preparation of equipment for rental or sale by verifying operational status and cleanliness.
- Work with the service team to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the yard.
- Help manage the movement and staging of equipment, ensuring it is positioned correctly and readily available when needed.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, including transfers, returns, and sales.
- Provide regular reports to the inventory manager and leadership team on stock levels, discrepancies, and equipment conditions.
- Assist with the tracking of rental and sale equipment to ensure timely returns and proper documentation.
Customer Support:
- Assist customers by providing equipment location information and ensuring they have access to equipment in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients on the yard, ensuring a professional and helpful attitude.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inventory management, yard operations, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment or materials as needed and work in varying weather conditions.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs or more.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including exposure to varying weather.
- Standing, walking, and bending for long periods throughout the day.
