REPORTS TO: Building Principal
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Family and Consumer Science endorsement
- Have a Comprehensive FCS endorsement
- Completed course work for an approved ISBE FCE Curricular Sequence in the areas of Foods and Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Housing & Living Environments, Child Development and Adult Living, and Parenting
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work with students
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach students in assigned FCS curricular content
- Manage and maintain equipment and labs for FCS Curriculum including foods labs and sewing labs
- Develop, follow and keep records of the department budget
- Purchase food and other supplies for food labs
- Work with building CTE Department Chair and district CTE TIL to run FCS program
- Participate in FCS Department PD as well as curriculum development projects and activities
- Follow district developed curriculum guides for FCS courses
