What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gameday Groundscrew position at Lansing Lugnuts?
JOB SUMMARY:
The grounds crew position is an hourly seasonal employee responsible in assisting the Head Groundskeeper with the daily maintenance of the playing field, landscape, and field events. Responsibilities include all activities relating to maintaining a professional baseball field including but not limited to; setup and tear down of batting practice, game preparation, cleaning and maintaining workshop, dragging the infield during games, assisting with tarp pulls, post-game clean up and repair, setup, and tear down of field events, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to work most games and lift 50 lbs.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Prior experience working in baseball or the turf industry (athletic fields, golf course, landscaping).
- Experience with turf practices like mowing, watering, painting, equipment and filed maintenance.
- Strong work ethic, teamworking skills and a positive attitude.
This position is ideal for an individual looking to further their experience in the turf management industry or has a passion for baseball.
COMPENSATION: $12.50-$15/hour based on experience
