The District Graduation Support Specialist plays a crucial role in increasing graduation rates and reducing absenteeism across the district. This position collaborates with school staff and community partners to identify at-risk students, develop individualized graduation plans, and implement targeted interventions. The specialist monitors attendance, analyzes data, and organizes programs that support student engagement, ensuring students meet graduation requirements and fostering a culture of achievement.

Qualifications - Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Teacher certification preferred.


Qualifications - Experience
  • Experience in education, student support, or program coordination.
  • Familiarity with graduation and attendance improvement strategies.


Qualifications - Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, families, and community partners.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making and track program effectiveness.


Sample Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with school staff to identify at-risk students and develop individualized graduation plans addressing academic, attendance, and social-emotional needs.
  • Monitor daily attendance data, identifying patterns of absenteeism, and develop attendance improvement plans with school teams.
  • Collect and analyze graduation, attendance, and dropout data, preparing reports to track program effectiveness and inform interventions.
  • Partner with community organizations to provide additional resources and support for students and families, facilitating access to mentoring and tutoring programs.
  • Develop and implement intervention programs to improve graduation rates and reduce absenteeism, coordinating mentoring, tutoring, and credit recovery initiatives.
  • Organize events to promote a culture of attendance and celebrate student milestones, including graduation success events.
  • Stay current on best practices for improving graduation rates and attendance, participating in relevant professional development.
  • Maintain records of communications and program activities, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal policies, and prepare required documentation for program funding.

Candidates without teacher certification will not be able to make more than a Level 3 per the LSEA contract.
