In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Multilingual Trauma Social Worker to work with the Special Populations team. This individual will be focused on providing services to multilingual students and their families. In particular, they will focus on providing extensive trauma support services to these individuals and groups, ensuring all students are set up for success both in and out of school.

Qualifications - Education & Certification
  • Master’s degree in social work required.
  • Clinical Social Worker certification (LMSW-C) or in progress.


Qualifications - Previous Experience
  • Preference for five (5) years of experience supporting multilingual families in school and home-based settings.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing therapeutic practices with individuals from diverse, global backgrounds.
  • Background in student and parent engagement in urban and multicultural communities.


Qualifications - Skills & Knowledge
  • Expertise in trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, and family therapy techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of medical model social work services and community resources for medically fragile children.
  • Ability to build professional, trusting relationships with students, families, and school staff.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including evening availability for family and community events.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.


Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support to multilingual families and caregivers as they acclimate to U.S.-based educational systems.
  • Maintain a caseload of trauma-impacted multilingual students, offering targeted behavioral and emotional support.
  • Facilitate small groups on trauma, grief, peer support, cultural adjustment, and emotional regulation.
  • Deliver individual and group sessions focused on mental wellness, coping skills, and crisis prevention.
  • Connect students and families with appropriate community resources.
  • Consult with staff regarding cultural responsiveness and student-specific trauma strategies.
  • Track student progress, monitor goals, and assess growth using data-informed practices.
  • Develop trauma-informed resources and training for staff supporting English learners.
  • Lead or assist in caregiver outreach and school-based engagement events.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and team members to ensure academic and emotional success for at-risk learners.


Physical Demands
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces. Frequent verbal communication is required to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families. May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties. Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students. Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication. Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
