Lantech Communications LLC is a leading construction and utility installation service provider located in Elk Grove Village, IL. We are currently seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator familiar with Vermeer 20x22 or Ditch Witch JT20 drill systems for a 1099 contract position.
Position: Directional Drill Operator
Location:
- Based in Elk Grove Village, IL
- Partial travel required for various projects
Type:
- Contract (1099 Position)
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly or project-based rate, negotiable based on experience
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a directional drill operator
Licenses:
- Class CDL Driver's License preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining Vermeer 20x22 and Ditch Witch JT20 directional drill systems.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, and as-built documentation.
- Following project plans and specifications to ensure the accurate placement and alignment of drilled holes.
- Monitoring drilling progress, adjusting equipment as needed, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the drilling operation.
- Collaborating with other construction crew members, such as laborers and utility locators, to coordinate tasks and complete projects successfully.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Communicating effectively with drilling operators and project managers.
- Documenting daily work logs, maintenance reports, and safety checklists.
- Assisting in equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
- Travelling to various project sites within the region as needed.
