What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development Mechanical Engineer position at Lantech?

Here's a Glimpse at What you'll Do:
- Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design and development of products as well as product changes and enhancements within Lantech's design standards and workflows.
- Solve mechanical engineering problems from component through system level.
- Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, calculations, drawings, and processes.
- Ensures new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability, & manufacturability.
- Devises and conducts validation tests to ensure product quality.
- Troubleshoots operational issues and devises short and long-term remedies.
- Applies engineering theory to solve complex problems.
- Learns & applies new skills as projects require.
- Maintains knowledge of new technologies and applies where appropriate.
- Identifies & acts on opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with and supports teammates and other colleagues.
- Directs junior engineers, technologists, and technicians as necessary.
- Travels to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10%).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What are We Looking For? (Requirements)
We are looking for someone who:
- Has had exposure to design of automatic equipment
- 3D CAD experience
- 2D CAD drafting experience
- Microsoft Office experience
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience designing or supporting industrial equipment.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) or a related field, Masters in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
Desired Skills:
- SolidWorks experience a plus
- Pneumatics experience a plus
