Why You Matter:
As a Production Welder at Lantech, you will be a member of a team that skillfully fabricates the steel components of our Stretch wrappers. Production welders at Lantech are tasked with using their metalworking expertise to lay the foundation on which our machines are built.
Here's a Glimpse at What you'll Do:
MIG welding which will include loading and unloading fixtures for welding. Will include welding standard components. Includes welding of mild steel in order to fabricate the scale base fabrication. Required to grind all surface welds at a level to not be seen after painting is complete. Will be running radial arm drill press and saw. Physical requirements include standing for 9.5 hours each day, manual dexterity to maneuver equipment for welding as well as lifting up to 50 lbs. Associate must be team oriented and able to backfill cells as needed. Must be willingly and able to work overtime as needed to complete projects and production deadlines.
As a Production Welder in Conveyor, you will be required to pass and sustain Pulse Certification.
Physical requirements include standing for 9.5 hours each day, manual dexterity to maneuver equipment for welding as well as lifting up to 50 lbs.
What are We Looking For? (Requirements)
We are looking for someone who:
- Must have (1) one year of MIG welding experience with ability to pass pulse assessment. Pulse welding is a plus.
- Is able to read and follow instructions in English (blueprints and standard work).
- Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and ability to work effectively within the fast-paced environment described above.
- Has a high aptitude for working with situations of a manufacturing nature.
- Practices safe work habits as an individual and with co-workers.
- Adheres to guidelines related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Is a team-oriented individual with good interaction/communication skills.
- Is able to get directions and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Is detail-oriented and able to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
- Is able to lift up to 50lbs
- Is able to stand for 9-10 hours per day
- Is able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.
- Is willing and able to work overtime to complete projects and/or meet scheduling deadlines.
- Is customer focused with a strong commitment to quality and production schedule
- Has sustained a record of good attendance.
- Is legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Education & Experience:
- Must have at least one year of MIG welding experience with the ability to pass pulse assessment (Pulse welding is a plus).
- The ability to read blueprints and drawings and knowledge of welding symbols is strongly preferred.
- The ability to read a tape measure is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to weld outside of a fixture a plus.
- Must have the ability to run a saw and drill press (previous machining experience strongly desired).
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required (Additional training from vocational or trade school is a plus).
