Business Development Manager
We are introducing a pivotal new role of Business Development Manager, designed to be the driving force behind unlocking substantial new revenue streams for Lanter Delivery Systems (Lanter). This position is ideal for a motivated and seasoned sales professional who excels at closing deals and is eager to propel growth by creating and expanding verticals and service offerings that leverage Lanter's specialized position in the freight industry. With well-defined targets and the full backing of our leadership team, this role is crucial in steering Lanter toward unprecedented revenue milestones.
We are seeking a strategic thinker who deeply understands customer needs and can design solutions that outpace our competitors. The ideal candidate will have strong connections and a significant presence with Executive level decision makers, coupled with the ability to listen and respond effectively to each client's unique requirements.
This role will be representing Lanter with credibility in customer interactions at all levels, and actively participating in industry conferences. You will play a key role in attracting new business through both inbound and outbound development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to create a sales pipeline for new customers and industries across N. America.
- Develop a strong customer pipeline through cultivation of new customer relationships
- Travel for in-person meetings with prospects and customers to develop and strengthen relationships.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the company's services.
- Generate new business by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities with new customers.
- Communicate strategies, provide progress updates, and collaborate on solutions with Lanter's leadership team
- Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and presentations to potential clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with company objectives.
- Upon on-boarding new business, lead the successful transition from 'new customer' to a part of the account management and operations team while ensuring customer relationship remains strong.
- Stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends to identify new business opportunities.

Experience
- 7 years of experience in business development or sales within the transportation or logistics industry (LTL or Dedicated Transportation experience preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in business related field
- Demonstrated experience in lead generation, including identifying prospects, nurturing relationships, and converting leads into opportunities.
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Experienced in solution sales or consultative sales
- Strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
