District Manager

The District Manager oversees the operations of multiple worksites within a geographic area. Primary responsibilities include recruiting and training leadership teams, executing district financial plans, and ensuring the location under their supervision adheres to company and industry regulations. District Manager reports directly to the Regional Vice President. This position can be located in St. Louis, MO or Olathe, KS.
Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
- Execute business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g. production, quality, safety) implement operational improvements.
- Compile MOR/Scorecard results in the areas of quality, financial, safety, talent and continuous improvement initiatives and review with Regional Vice President
- Monitor quality and financial results of local carrier and participate in monthly scheduled QBR.
- Lead the execution and implementation of customer and company driven initiatives.
- Collaborate with Business Development staff; relay new opportunities, assist with bids and customer negotiations.
- Facility Standards: Maintain service standards as required by Regional Leadership.
- Ensure area of responsibility adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements.
Leadership:
- Responsible for identifying and forecasting workforce needs of the district and partnering with HR on recruiting, hiring, compensation and onboarding.
- Lead and manage team members in area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
- Identify training and developmental gaps within area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Lanter Delivery Systems Non-Negotiables, be seen as a role model to staff and peers and apply the behaviors daily.
Requirements:
- Five years of managerial experience in logistics, warehousing or similar industry experience.
- Proven success in logistics, transportation, cross-dock, warehouse, or related field; A3, Six Sigma, TQM, ISO environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform customer related communication and initiatives
- Proven experience executing corporate initiatives within an assigned area or department
