Status : Full-time
Classification : Exempt
Job Location : Shelter Sites across the organization, travel to sites required.
Work Schedule : Monday – Friday, some weekend or evening hours as needed.
Salary : $115K-$125K (salary based on corresponding title and years of experience)
Objective :
Lantern Community Services is seeking a highly experienced, energetic ( Assistant) Vice President of Shelter Services to oversee three current shelter sites, as well as any new sites that will be added to our growing Shelter Division. We are seeking a transformational and innovative leader for this new position! Reporting to the Senior Vice President of the Shelter Division, the A / VP of Shelter Services will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities to ensure development and implementation of all programming and social services for the portfolio. Responsibilities include direct supervision, training, and development of each site’s Program Directors, Directors of Social Services and their teams, oversee and track placement targets, ILPs, reunification efforts, and other social service needs of our asylum-seeking families. The A / VP will partner and collaborate regularly with the A / VP of Operations and other Operations staff in co-facilitating a collaborative, efficient, and supportive environment between both departments. The A / VP of Shelter Services will also manage high level relationships and correspondence with the Department of Homeless Services (DHS), train and implement emerging DHS policies, campaigns, and standards in ensuring contract compliance. The A / VP of Shelter Services will also be expected to expand the division’s capacity and quality of on-site services, to source and integrate health and mental health providers, as well as develop efficient referral tracking and follow-up processes. The A / VP of Shelter Programming will also co-chair the division’s Internal Review Committee, presiding over the monthly meeting with their Operations counterpart.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, develops, and supervises a team of Program Directors
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Manages performance of direct reports through regular supervision and meetings
- Ensures quality deliverables are met within required timeframes
- Monitor quality improvement via generated reports, scorecards, internal audits, and other data in evaluating programmatic performance
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Manages performance improvement of employees in accordance with company policy
- Partner with the A / VP of Shelter Operations and their Operations teams in promoting a collaborative culture of communication and teamwork regarding service delivery and the general operation of each shelter site
- Collaborates with agency training department, conducts de-escalation and crisis intervention trainings
- Facilitate regularly scheduled Programs-specific staff meetings with PDs and their teams
- Participate in Incident Review Committee meetings, as well as agency staff and leadership meetings, as identified by Senior Vice President of Shelter Programs
