Lantern Government Solutions is seeking dedicated and experienced Medical Technologists for a full-time (40 hour per week) contract opportunity at the White River Junction Medical Center in Vermont . Join our team and support the health and wellness of our veteran community. This is an excellent opportunity for military spouses, dependents, veterans, or anyone interested in supporting the military healthcare system in a civilian capacity.
About the Role :
As a Medical Technologist at the White River Junction Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in performing complex laboratory tests to assist in diagnosing and treating veterans. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring accurate results that support the healthcare team in providing high-quality care to our veterans.
Your daily responsibilities may include :
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, urinalysis, and blood banking.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. (Abbott Architect ci8200, Abbott Alinity, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80)
- Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and supplies.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards, protocols, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to assist with diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or technical issues in the laboratory setting.
- Document test results, maintain patient records, and update electronic health records (EHR) as required.
- Participate in proficiency testing, continuing education, and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with all VA hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
Work Schedule :
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Available shifts are as follows :
Each shift is 8 hours in duration. No on-call responsibilities!
