Lantern Government Solutions is seeking Phlebotomists for a full-time (40 hour per week) long-term contract opportunity at the Department of Veterans Affairs P&LM Greenville outpatient clinic (GOPC) in Greenville, South Carolina. Join our team and support the health and wellness of our veteran community. This is an excellent opportunity for military spouses, dependents, veterans, or anyone interested in supporting the military healthcare system in a civilian capacity.
About the Role:
As a Phlebotomist you will play a crucial role by performing blood draws and assisting with laboratory testing to help diagnose and treat our veterans. Your attention to detail, professionalism, and compassion will help ensure high-quality care in a respectful and supportive environment.
Your daily responsibilities may include:

Specimen Collection:
- Perform venipuncture, finger stick procedures, and other tests using appropriate techniques.
- Collect blood samples using the vacutainer blood collection system or syringe with needle/butterfly when necessary.
- Collect and process urine samples, providing proper instructions to patients.

Patient Interaction:
- Provide patient in-processing prior to specimen collection, including reviewing paperwork and offering guidance.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens.

Specimen Handling:
- Accession all specimens by entering order numbers, verifying tests, and labeling collection tubes.
- Deliver collected samples to appropriate departments and process them for transport as needed.

Safety and Infection Control:
- Adhere to strict safety and infection control procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the phlebotomy and accessioning areas.

Administrative Duties:
- Perform phlebotomy-related administrative and clerical tasks, such as maintaining records of tests performed.
- Conduct inventory of supplies and restock as necessary.

Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform quality checks and preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
- Ensure all specimens are processed and packaged correctly for transport.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week during department operating hours: 7:30am - 3:30 Monday through Friday.
Federal Holidays off!
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of equivalent Phlebotomist experience or Phlebotomy certification.
- Satisfactory background check and pre-employment physical.
