Summary of Role :
The Payer Account Director will be a strategic partner responsible for leveraging customer relationships to deliver broad access, reimbursement, and appropriate policy for Lantheus brands. The successful candidate will be the lead for payer organizations to include Commercial plans, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), and state Medicaid, to ensure coverage of Lantheus products by driving medical policy and coverage initiatives. The individual in this role will mobilize the support of large customers and physician organizations treating prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, and Alzheimer's disease states to impact and shape medical policy. The Payer Account Director will be responsible for assisting in creating key communication strategies for approved diagnostics and therapies and executing preapproval information exchange for Lantheus products post NDA filings. The person in this role must work collaboratively with the broader Lantheus Commercial organization including Market Access field teams, Market Access Strategy, National Accounts, Government Affairs, and Medical Affairs among others to shape positive patient access for Lantheus products. This position will report to the Head of Payer Advocacy & Strategy.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
- Establish strong relationships with Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, and other strategic personnel within key assigned accounts.
- Serve as the lead for traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Commercial payers on matters related to payer policy and the claims adjudication process.
- In coordination with Market Access Leadership, executes a market access strategy aligned with Lantheus' commercial goals and ensures a comprehensive tactical and strategic plan is deployed to achieve commercial strategic objectives.
- Create, implement, and maintain detailed account plans for targeted accounts, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch activities to maximize access and while protecting Lantheus' current assets.
- Ensure rapid and optimal access for all Lantheus products.
- Provide appropriate insight and input into the development of payer prior authorization criteria and, or medical policy.
- Work in partnership with Market Access field teams to identify and mitigate access barriers.
- Provide periodic market updates to Commercial Leadership that link important provider, payer, and health care reform trends and issues as well as document initiatives and their outcomes.
- Deliver value proposition and Health Economic Information (HEI) to educate payers on product(s) clinical and economic benefit.
- Ensures all activities are consistent with all US Healthcare regulations, laws, and company compliance policies.
