Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facility's systems and equipment. This role requires a strong background in various technical disciplines, including HVAC, electrical systems, and industrial mechanics. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and functional environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
Ability to complete various internal and external building and apartment tasks including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and more.
Collaborate with Owners to address complex technical challenges.
Organize, maintain, and utilize provided supplies in a cost-effective manner.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations to minimize the disruption of business operations. Be available for emergency calls as needed.
Inspect or test damaged equipment and advise Owners of repair needs. Order cost-effective materials and equipment and purchase appropriately depending on if the materials or equipment is intended for apartments or for the store.
Implement and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules to reduce the likelihood of equipment failures.
Adhere to safety guidelines while performing maintenance tasks. Improve safety and health standards in all processes and practices.
Communicate and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance tasks.
Contact and coordinate with subcontractors/vendors and oversee work orders as needed.
Maintain inventory of basic personal tools to complete task requirements including but not limited to a hammer, screwdriver, adjustable wrench, tape measure, flashlight, and painting equipment.
Complete building or apartment inspections as needed and maintain orderly documentation.
Present an appearance appropriate to the image of the company. Different work locations/conditions may permit varying attire.
Provide excellent customer service while working with Lantman’s Market customers or K.B. Real Estate tenants.
Complete additional tasks or duties assigned by the General Manager or Owners.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and industrial mechanics.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
