The practice is privately owned and operated by Dr. Scott Pett, who previously owned and operated a highly regarded veterinary hospital for 15 years before moving to North Carolina. Dr. Pett has been practicing veterinary medicine in the area for the past 3 years and has established a solid reputation. Our comfortable, welcoming hospital has a small-town vibe with advanced veterinary technologies. We strive to foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every patient receives the highest quality treatment and every client leaves with peace of mind.
Job Description: We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Veterinary Receptionist. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in animal care, veterinary office, or medical office settings, along with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at multitasking, and are highly organized, we want to meet you!
Responsibilities:
- Warmly greeting clients and their pets upon check-in
- Managing a multi-line phone system to schedule appointments and triage calls.
- Utilizing cloud-based software for invoicing services, processing payments and generating financial reports.
- Performing administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the front office area
- Efficiently handling emails and responding to inquiries promptly
- Facilitating prescription refills via telephone and email, ensuring timely processing
- Demonstrating knowledge of common veterinary terminology, products, and services to assist clients effectively
- Managing client records and ensuring the accuracy of information
- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or administrative roles preferred
- Knowledge of basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, email)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine interest in animal welfare and veterinary medicine
