General Summary
The Financial Support Specialist performs consumer fee assessments, insurance reviews, and a variety of billing functions.
Essential Functions
- Gathers initial demographic and financial information to conduct ability to pay (ATP) determinations.
- Provides and reviews annual ability to pay redeterminations.
- Generates monthly ATP billing statements to consumers and post all consumer payments in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Conducts monthly reviews of Medicaid Spend Downs and all insurance policies.
- Update and maintain agency General Fund List.
- Assist in obtaining Medicaid Denial letters.
- Assist in obtaining prior authorizations.
- Perform and Assist with the Compliance Audit.
- Generate reports for staff or providers as needed.
- Participates in agency committees as directed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Advanced course work in accounting or computer skills preferred.
Experience:
- One year experience working in a related environment.
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Prefer experience and training in billing or accounting related services.
