Financial Support Specialist

General Summary
The Financial Support Specialist performs consumer fee assessments, insurance reviews, and a variety of billing functions.

Essential Functions

• Gathers initial demographic and financial information to conduct ability to pay (ATP) determinations.
• Provides and reviews annual ability to pay redeterminations.
• Generates monthly ATP billing statements to consumers and post all consumer payments in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Conducts monthly reviews of Medicaid Spend Downs and all insurance policies.
• Update and maintain agency General Fund List.
• Assist in obtaining Medicaid Denial letters.
• Assist in obtaining prior authorizations.
• Perform and Assist with the Compliance Audit.
• Generate reports for staff or providers as needed.
• Participates in agency committees as directed.

Qualifications:

Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Advanced course work in accounting or computer skills preferred.

Experience:

• One year experience working in a related environment.
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Prefer experience and training in billing or accounting related services.
