Purpose/Summary:
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain all machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of all equipment as required to maintain production and performs scheduled maintenance or repairs of equipment during machine service intervals.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities (benchwork as needed).
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of all machines and tools.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, prints, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Learn to use and implement the current Asset management/Maintenance program software (i.e. CMMS).
- Perform regular and scheduled preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities as needed.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, safety issues and report/repair those and any unusual situations to proper supervision upon discovery or repair.
- Completes assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices. This includes regard to individual safety, the safety of other employees, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Wears approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and other task specific PPE.
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person or management.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions may consist of loud noise, vibratory tools, repetitive motions, airborne particles such as metal dust and chips and exposure to chemicals such as soaps, oils and detergents. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, lifting, twisting with periodic bending, climbing, stooping, crawling, and crouching.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
- Previous work experience
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes with related equipment and forklifts.
- Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions.
- Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a team.
JSA (Job Safety Analysis) Maintenance Technician
For Maintenance Technician, their job will be in an outside/inside environment that will consist of a dusty, noisy atmospheres along with the weather elements. They will need to be able to lift, pull, push, stand, bend, grasp, reach and twist while standing on a regular basis.
Some of the risk factors for their job will include repetitive motions, static and awkward postures, reaching above the shoulder, and moving heavy objects.
Their main hazard but not limited to will be their hands, after that some other hazards will include eye, foot, body, fall and noise hazards. Along with the body hazards, some hazards that come from the job will be: improper bending/twisting, tripping over the product/material, incorrect usage of equipment or handling the equipment improperly.
Some preventive measures will be having the proper PPE (safety glasses, shoes, hearing protection, etc.) on while making sure they are using the right technique when moving/lifting objects. Along with that, making sure that loose clothing is tucked in.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
