You will be accountable for delivery and technical quality of traditional architectural design and documentation tasks related to project delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration with internal engineering disciplines including Process Engineering, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Automation.
- Collaboration with sub-consultants including Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering.
- Work directly with project Design Teams including designers, engineers, drafting support as Project Architect or Architectural Designer on architectural design scope for advanced pharmaceutical laboratories and manufacturing plants.
- Develop conceptual basis of design layouts and written descriptions for early stage project evaluation by clients for funding and technical approval.
- Develop highly coordinated project documentation for both permitting and construction issuances.
- Plan and conduct design activities in collaboration with designated project managers at Laporte to execute on time and quality assured project deliverables.
- Ability to work both independently and in concert with other members of the Architectural Services Group on conceptual design, design development, detailing, and product selections based on client design requirements.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and critical thinking both for architectural scope as well as integration with engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrate a desire to work in a team environment for execution of technical design, documentation, specifications, and Building Information Modeling.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of documentation standards and a willingness to adapt workflow based on corporate and client standards.
- Attend internal and client facing project meetings with the ability to clearly communicate architectural design through presentation materials and drawing review. Exhibit a desire to take on a active role in defining coordination concerns, design requirement inputs, and clearly tracking each through Laporte's project management standards.
- Participate in Construction Administration efforts as required on a project by project basis. Including: submittal review, responses to requests for information, and performing on-site field walks.
- Perform technical presentations to clients in tandem with discipline leads and Laporte Project Managers.
- Provide Quality Assurance review for other Architectural Services Group documentation and production from drafting support team.
- Provide support to business development activities including assistance with preparation of proposals and presentation materials.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited Architectural Program with architecture licensure achieved.
- Applicants not yet licensed, but on the path to licensure will be considered.
- At least 3 years of professional architectural design experience required.
- Expert-level proficiency with Autodesk Revit required.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam preferred.
- Knowledge of building and accessibility codes required. Applicability to industrial and laboratory facilities preferred.
- Ability to work across multiple projects and design teams. Preferred ability to lead architectural design scope as architectural lead.
