What are the responsibilities and job description for the Second Shift Millwright position at Lapp Insulators LLC?
Lapp Insulators LLC is looking for an experienced Millwright to join our maintenance team. The millwright must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools such as saws, punches, presses, drills, welders, grinders, drawings, manuals, sketches and verbal directions. Candidate must possess a general knowledge of industrial mathematics. Up to 5 years required to become proficient in varied and complex work.
BASIC DUTIES: Installs, maintains and repairs all machinery and equipment, under general supervision of Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Manager. Must work in a manner that is safe to him/her self and others, promotes a quality product through his/her work, and complies with all regulations from EPA, OSHA, DEC, etc. Must interact with production workers, engineers and manufacturing reps to troubleshoot breakdown causes and to determine the proper repair procedure. Recommends new methods, suggests replacements and otherwise advises management in ways to keep equipment in top working order.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools such as welders, lathes, saws, wrenches, grinders, drawings, manuals, sketches and verbal directions.
2. Must possess general knowledge of industrial mathematics.
3. Uses precision measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers, aligns pumps/motors.
4. Rebuild hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
5. Maintains gasoline and propane engines and various fork and pallet trucks.
6. Must be familiar with methods of handling and installing heavy equipment.
7. Trains and works with any other maintenance employee.
8. Must have functional knowledge and experience in multiple trades.
9. Repairs/replaces faulty electrical parts or wiring, welds, sheet metal, and piping apparatus, including, but not limited to: Pump, fuse, sensor and electrically controlled valve replacement. Repairs to damaged flexible conduit and wiring. Reversing of AC and DC motors, motor brush replacement. Replacement of damaged sheet metal (fabricated by others). Repair/replacement of leaky plumbing and hydraulic fittings, piping, and hoses including hydraulic hose fabrication.
High school diploma or GED required as well as a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
