What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at LAPP?
SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the ÖC Business Unit Manager, this position is responsible for all production operations within the ÖC Florham Park facilities. The Production Manager is also responsible for equipment, processes, and continuous improvement within ÖLFLEX® CONNECT. This includes equipment maintenance, document control, and product failure analyses in coordination with LAPP Engineering. The position is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by achieving on-time delivery of quality products with efficient use of personnel, processes and procedures available to support that goal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Lead the production team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
• Establish procedures to maximize effectiveness of manufacturing process, equipment, maintenance, and personnel.
• Track Key Performance Indicators and align team activities for consistent performance
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures, make changes as necessary to maintain compliance
• Lead continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing operation.
• Create best in class team by analyzing gaps and providing development plans focused on best practices, ensuring minimal equipment downtime, maximum productivity, and the highest levels of quality.
• Continually interface with ÖC Engineering, Sales Support, Product Management, LAPP USA Engineering, and Corporate Quality to ensure customer requirements are met and production orders are on schedule.
• Support forecasting and SIOP activities.
• Assist with environmental regulations inquiries and customer documentation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Production Manager is responsible for providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of individuals within their team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the LAPP USA policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Production Manager is the driving force for goal achievement and as such must be able to focus their team to do the same.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years of production management experience with supervisory responsibility in industrial manufacturing market. Experience with production of electrical wire harnesses, custom cable assemblies, and control cabinets preferred.
Good understanding of and experience with managing production processes and utilizing ERP systems.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 10% international or domestic travel

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and have the ability to adjust and focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and very heavy raw materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
COMPENSATION: After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $105,000 - $115,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
