Job Summary
The Campus Safety student worker is a part-time, non-benefitted position that maintains safety and security of people and property on the college campus. They may work independently, with supervision from the full-time officer. They will patrol (on foot or by vehicle) the campus, buildings, and parking lots; they will watch for emergency situations, suspicious activity, and campus policy and procedure violations, and report any issues to the full-time officer; and they will prepare logs.
Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.
Compensation: $15.03/hr.

Starting Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process.
Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA's
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position non-exempt and iseligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).
- Ensure a safe and secure campus by reporting any suspicious activity, safety hazards, campus policy to the full-time officer. They will also assist with the locking and unlocking of the campus.
Foster a unified approach to campus safety by maintaining clear and effective communication with campus safety team members, supervisors.
Support accountability and continuous improvement efforts within the organization by documenting activities in daily logs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required
- There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments when working with assembly tools or in server environments.

Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Need to be enrolled in an academic program and taking classes at Laramie County Community College.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in the Associates degree in Criminal Justice program.
